Main South Road is a vital road route carrying thousands of vehicles each day to our southern coastal suburbs, Fleurieu and Kangaroo Island communities. As the population of these areas grows, traffic volumes will inevitably increase and safety concerns for motorists will become more pressing.

Busy intersections, the condition of the road’s surface and a lack of overtaking lanes are just some of the problems facing the road. The Liberal Party wants to hear your views about the stretch of Main South Road from Seaford to Sellicks Beach.

The message I’m hearing loud and clear is that we need a comprehensive, long-term solution for Main South Road so that the road will cope with the projected growth well into the future. The southern Fleurieu and Kangaroo Island communities, as well as the tourism industry, are all heavily dependent on this stretch of road, so we must have a solution which accommodates the traffic flows.
